POSITION DESCRIPTION: Maintenance
FLSA: Non-exempt
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Properly licensed to operate a motor vehicle and obtain a school bus license within 3 months of employment.
- Practical experience in maintenance.
- Supervisory experience desired.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to lift 55 pounds to shoulder height occasionally
- Ability to push / pull a minimum of 20 pounds frequently
REPORTS TO: Superintendent(s) & Building Principal
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Twelve month employment (260 days) with benefits provided according to Board Policies.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Ability to complete daily building routines and responsibilities as assigned.

Proactively examines school buildings inside and out on a regular basis for needed repairs and maintenance.
- Ability to adjust and adapt as building or district issues arise.

Communicates well with district employees and has the ability to effectively work with district staff.

Manages and updates the district's assigned ticket system in a timely manner for repairs and maintenace.

Completes all assigned maintenance tasks/tickets in a timely manner.

Establishes and prioritizes repair projects to be completed weekly.

Estimates cost and collects bids of repair projects or equipment replacement.

Communicates and supervises crews for outsourced maintenance work.
- Orders materials as needed, and makes recommendations of supplies and equipment for purchase.

Consults with building principals regarding the establishment of regular preventative maintenance programs.

Communicates with the Superintendent on building maintainance concerns, schedules, etc.
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Operate safely all District provided equipment.

Attend meetings as requested by supervisors or District administration.

Be respectful and courteous to parents, students and staff.

Maintains such personnel and other records as are required.

Perform other duties as may be assigned and is able to be inconvenienced to get buildings ready for operation for the next day.

Perform as a team player on other duties as may be assigned.

Dress and grooming should be appropriate. Wear appropriate clothing for the job.
